Booking through Thursday
This week's question:
You’ve just reached the end of a book . . .
what do you do now? Savor and muse over the book? Dive right into the next one?
Go take the dog for a walk, the kids to the park, before even thinking about the
next book you’re going to read? What?

Hmmm. I'm a definite diver.
These days, I have a to-be-read pile, and since I've discovered Australian second-hand bookshops in a big way (still way more expensive than amazon etc, but with lots of UK titles as well), I've got a lot waiting for me. So, by the time I get to the end of a book, no matter how good it is, I've already started working out what I'll move on to next. And then it's done in an instant.
I also find that while I'm reading one book, I can still mull over something I read recently, so there's no need for any hiatus. Just a big breath and dive right in.

I find it depends on the book. :)

I'm a diver too. I like to put one down and pick the next up straight away.

I know what i want to be able to say to this, which is that I always allow time to give a book the consideration it deserves before moving on, but do I? What do you think!

I envy you! I have to force myself to start something new but I'm a diver when it comes to favourite series.

I am a diver. In fact, sometimes I have started the next one before I finished the first one.

I'm a diver too and usually have several books on the go at the same time ;0)

For me, it depends on the book.

Same with me. No time to mull over!

great answer! I am a little slower sometimes, others I am not. I wish I could start a new one up faster most of the time.

As long as I have something to dive into, I will but I sometimes have to go out in search of the books first.

Sometimes I dive in; sometimes I wait. Depends if there's a book waiting and/or how harrowing the just finished book was.

I too have a pile... the watcher is turning out to be hard to get through. Graphic novels always start out slow... But it's all in anticipation of the other 6 or so books in my pile. Love Halina.

Ahh, yes. You're as doomed as the rest of us, with that used bookstore nearby. Just wait until you get into the online trading. It's dangerous, I tell you!

LOL! I guess I'm a diver as well. I think I let the finished book go into my subconscious so I can mull it over without having to take a hiatus (however short) from books. :-)

Depends on the book, some are made to be discarded quickly, a brief fling and that's it. Others linger, like the taste of coffe on your tongue.
